  • Children’s Day was conducted at Meluha School, with pomp and galore. The teaching faculty, under the supervision of Cultural Committee organised the events, which included songs and Quiz by teachers, dances by students. The highlight of the day was the Fashion Walk for the Faculties, and the 15 over Cricket Match between Teachers’ Team and Students’ Team. The winners of Intra School Telugu Paddyala Potti, Arts Competition and Music Competition were awarded the prizes.
  • The textbook provides the student with a lot of knowledge, but to extract wisdom from it one must know how to apply this knowledge in practical and real world situations. So in order to acquire the wisdom of psychology one must apply the knowledge in real life, and the workshop exposure provides the opportunity to do so.

    About the organizers: The workshop was organized by Trawello Healthcare, a health-tech startup. Travello HealthyKID Program, a platform for enthusiastic and passionate learners to get hands-on experience on mental wellness screening of young children.

    When?: The workshop was conducted in a span of two days, that is 17th and 18th of November 2022.

    Where?: This workshop was done at New Era Lead School, Hyderabad.

    Who were part of the work ?: Class XI students under the supervision of Ms. Yasmeen Begum (Psychology Teacher/Counselor)

    About the workshop: It was to observe the process of mental screening. And identification of mental illness in children such as child ADHD, Anxiety disorders in children, etc. The workshop involved a lot of keen observations and describing the parameters in as much detail as possible. The students were provided with an opportunity to observe the general behavior, psychomotor activity, speech, alertness & eye Contact, place, time and person orientation.

    As students we bagged on with a lot of new learnings and a knowledgeable experience which will certainly help us in the rest of our life. Back there, each of us got a chance to cater different-different tasks and assist children. We learned that Being mentally healthy during childhood means reaching developmental and emotional milestones and learning healthy social skills and how to cope when there are problems. Mentally healthy children have a positive quality of life and can function well at home, in school, and in their communities. We also got a chance to interact with a heterogeneous group of childrens and witness various facets of their day-to-day struggles while trying hard to balance our own lives. Indeed we learned about How Mental health is as important to a child's safety and wellbeing as their physical health.

  • The school is participating in the CBSE Adolescent summit on Life skills, Mental health and Wel-being 2022 for class XI students accompanied by PGET/School counselor (Ms. Yasmeen Begum to be held at National Bal Bhavan, Delhi, 110002 from December 15 to December 17, 2022. The timings of the summit are 8.00 am to 4.00 pm. The main aim of the summit is to bring together many schools to have a face-to-face dialogue through different events to establish good models of promoting the life skills, and well-being paradigm in the schools across the country. The Highlights of the program include: Exhibition, competitions on thematic painting, rhetoric's, solo Indian classical dance, role plays, the adolescent mental health and well-being parliament, and screening of theme based short films by students.
  • Ms. Likhita Kolli, of the Department of Chemistry, participated in the INTERNATIONAL TEACHERS OLYMPIAD on 15th October, 2022 and got 10th position in the percentile position.
  • The school conducted its half-yearly Parents Teachers Meeting on October 22, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 4 a.m. for the students from Grade VI to XII. The day also saw Student-Organized Charity Fund Raiser by XI and XII Science and Commerce Batches, with the intention to aid the students of a nearby government school.

  • Ms. Anjali Razdan, the Academic Director of Meluha School conducted Two Day Capacity Building Programme conducted by CBSE for the teaching faculty of Oxford Grammar High School on 26th and 27th September 2022. The topic of the Training was Experiential Learning.

The Directors of the Meluha were the Chief Guests of the Occasion. The celebration included Songs and dances by Students, followed by the ceremony of investiture.

The webinar was led by Mr. Ashish Suri who represented Waikato University, New Zealand. The representatives of some of the Universities from New Zealand were present. Their interaction with students proved helpful in alleviating the doubts of students related to the possibility of studying outside India, especially in New Zealand.
